See the result in 10s
Photorealistic AI try-on. Fashion-trained 864×1296 model. Sharp enough to make actual buying decisions.
Add or skip, repeat
Build your capsule one decision at a time. Save for later, accept, or skip — state persists across sessions.
Why a virtual dressing room is useful
The traditional clothes-shopping problem: a piece looks great in the catalogue, you order it, it doesn't fit your body the way you thought it would, you return it. The cumulative cost of this — both in money and in time — is the single biggest reason most people shop fewer pieces than they'd like to. The virtual dressing room shortcuts the loop: see the piece on you, decide, only buy the ones that work.
Online shopping
The single biggest use. See if the silhouette works on your body before clicking buy. Eliminates 80%+ of size-not-quite-right returns.
Wardrobe planning
Build a complete capsule wardrobe of pieces you don't yet own. The virtual dressing room lets you visualize before committing.
Capsule editing
Already have most of a wardrobe? Identify the gaps and try the candidate pieces virtually. Faster than driving to the store.
Special occasion shopping
Wedding guest, interview, holiday party — try the candidates on at home. Decide without the changing-room time pressure.
Privacy by default
Your photo is processed in-memory and discarded after generation. Nothing stored on our servers. Nothing added to a training set. The privacy policy spells out the technical detail. Photo data is yours; we just borrow it for 10 seconds to do the generation.

Frequently asked questions
What is a virtual dressing room?
A virtual dressing room is a tool that lets you see yourself wearing a garment before buying it, using AI image generation. You upload one full-body photo and select a garment; the AI generates a photorealistic image of you wearing that piece in roughly 10 seconds. The output is sharp enough to make actual buying decisions — you can see how the fabric drapes, where the shoulders sit, how the trouser hits the leg.
Is the virtual dressing room actually photorealistic?
Yes — per-piece. Capsule Wardrobe AI's virtual dressing room runs on a fashion-trained 864×1296 photorealistic model — the same calibre of try-on technology major online retailers use. The output isn't perfect (very specific patterned fabrics can render unevenly), but for solid-colour and standard-pattern garments — the bulk of any capsule wardrobe — the rendering is convincing enough to drive purchase decisions.
Is the virtual dressing room free?
The first 3 try-ons are free, no signup, no credit card. Browsing the curated capsule library is free indefinitely. After 3 generations, the Pro tier is $8/month and unlocks unlimited try-ons. We use the free tier specifically as a 'prove the value' moment — most users decide whether the tool works for them within 1–2 generations.
What happens to my photo in the virtual dressing room?
Your photo is processed in-memory only. It's sent to our AI inference endpoint, the generation completes, and the photo is discarded. Nothing is retained on our servers. Nothing is added to a training set. The privacy policy says exactly this — see /privacy for the technical detail, including the named third-party processor (GDPR disclosure). We treat photo data as you'd want a major company to treat it, not as the typical 'agree to broad terms of service' approach.
How is the virtual dressing room different from FitRoom or Vue?
Three differences. First: every garment in the curated library is real, shoppable, and selected by editors — not generic stock photos. Second: the try-ons tie into a capsule wardrobe builder with outfit logic and inventory state, not just one-off generations. Third: we focus specifically on capsule wardrobe building — fewer, better pieces — rather than generic 'try on any random clothes' use cases. The capsule context is what makes the AI try-on actually useful.
Can I use the virtual dressing room without a signup?
Yes, the first 3 try-ons require nothing — no email, no card, no account. Visit the URL, upload a photo, start generating. The state persists in your browser's local storage so you can leave and come back. Sign-up is only required for Pro features (unlimited try-ons, capsule export). This is intentional — gating value behind signup is anti-customer.
Does the virtual dressing room work on mobile?
Yes — fully. We're a PWA (progressive web app) which means it runs in any modern browser on iOS, Android, and desktop. Performance is identical across devices because the heavy lifting (the AI generation) happens server-side. Mobile is actually the most common use case — people upload photos directly from camera roll while shopping.
